Number writing practice

Is your handwriting as bad as mine? Perhaps you need some practice at writing out numbers neatly? Or do you want a number trick to try out on a friend?

• Ask a friend to write down the figures 1 to 9 leaving out the 8.
  
  
  
  
• Ask which figure he has written worst.
• If, for example, he says 7, ask him to multiply the row of figures by 63 since 7 x 9 is 63.
• The result will be as follows:

He will have had some practice writing 7 when he has finished!

The same result applies for any figure chosen. Using 45 (which is 5 x 9) gives a row of 5's and 27 (= 3 x 9) will give a row of 3's.
